Indian Army troops averted a major accident today by discovering a landmine near the Line of Control (LOC) in the Mankote sector of Poonch. Around 12:20 PM, a routine patrol spotted the landmine on the fence in Patthri Gali, likely displaced by heavy rain.
The area was quickly secured, and the Army's Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in to handle the situation. The process to neutralize the landmine is ongoing.
This swift action by the Army ensured the safety of the area and highlighted the ongoing risks along the LOC.
